KEF KIDS is a London-based charity dedicated to supporting children and young adults with a wide range of physical and learning disabilities and their families.

This year is a milestone year for KEF as we celebrate 20 years. Founded with just 4 children in 2006, the organisation now supports over 100 families with a range of support services.
BIKE4KEF was launched in 2014, and has become a much-anticipated event in the North West London diary. The build-up of excitement amongst riders and supporters is felt across the community and beyond.
We are delighted and grateful to both returning and new riders who have signed up for BIKE4KEF 2026, riding for the children of KEF and ensuring that KEF KIDS can keep providing the highest quality of services to the members of our community who need it most.

BIKE4KEF is KEF’s main annual fundraiser. We are so grateful for your support.

DATE & TIMING:
BIKE4KEF will take place on Sunday 28th June 2026.
The ride will depart from Hendon Park, with staggered departure times depending on the route selected. Exact start times and full event-day information will be shared with riders closer to the ride. Riders should allow for a full day experience. Riders can expect to arrive back at the finish line in Hendon Park between approximately 2:00pm–5:00pm, depending on route choice, riding pace and rest stops throughout the day.

ROUTE INFORMATION
Participants will be able to choose from one of three route options:

  • 50km
  • 100km
  • 100 miles - this route is designed for experienced cyclists who are confident covering longer distances with limited support and sustained riding conditions.

To help riders prepare safely and enjoy the experience, we strongly recommend regular training in the lead-up to the ride. Ideally, participants should aim to cycle 2–3 times per week and gradually build up to comfortably completing 50–60km in a single ride before the event. These distances can be physically demanding without appropriate preparation.

All routes are being professionally planned and managed by a specialist event company to ensure the highest possible standards of safety, rider experience, and support throughout the day. Detailed route information, including maps, pit stop locations, and timings, will be shared nearer to the ride.

CAN I RIDE?
If you are considering taking part in BIKE4KEF, participants must:

  • Be in Year 11 or aged 16+
  • Be physically fit enough to comfortably cycle a minimum of 50km
  • Be in good health and adequately prepared to take part safely
  • Have undertaken sufficient training ahead of the event
  • Be ready for a full and rewarding day of cycling

ACCESSIBILITY & SUPPORT
At KEF, inclusion, accessibility and care are at the heart of everything we do.
We are committed to creating an event environment where every participant feels welcomed, respected, supported and able to take part with confidence. We recognise that every rider’s needs and experiences are different, and we want BIKE4KEF to be as inclusive and accessible as possible for all participants.
We warmly encourage anyone with physical, medical, sensory, communication or neurodivergent needs to get in touch with us in advance of the ride so we can discuss how best to support you.
Our team will always do all we reasonably can to support and accommodate participants wherever possible. We understand that everyone experiences events differently, and we are committed to working with riders individually, compassionately and confidentially to help ensure a safe, positive and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
If there is anything you would like us to know, or if you would simply like to have a conversation about how we can support you, please do not hesitate to get in touch - we are always happy to help.

RIDE ESSENTIALS
All riders must bring:

  • A roadworthy and appropriate bicycle
  • A helmet (compulsory)
  • At least one bottle cage attached to the bike (ideally two)
  • Spare inner tubes suitable for your tyres
  • A waterproof jacket (recommended)

Further kit recommendations and rider guidance will be shared closer to the event.

FINISH LINE CELEBRATION EVENT
All routes will finish back at Hendon Park, where riders, families, and event sponsors will come together for our exclusive BIKE4KEF Finish Line BBQ Celebration.

Each rider will receive two complimentary wristbands for guests to join the finish line event. Additional wristbands will also be available for members of the rider’s immediate household family.

We are looking forward to spending a wonderful afternoon together at Hendon Park, celebrating an incredible achievement with a fantastic community atmosphere. There will be a delicious BBQ, music, entertainment for children - we look forward to welcoming everyone to what promises to be a truly enjoyable afternoon for all!
